Matt, you amaze me. Bloody well amaze me.
i don't get it..
04:51pm 13/10/2005
so, instead of sitting down at a table and talking to get this crap over with... gordo and his fascist regime's tactic is now to starve out the teachers (by freezing our union's account.. which means not only do we not get our teaching pay, but now, as the law breakers we are, we don't even get the mere $50 a day strike pay). so, let's see how this will all line up: even if the teachers did decide to call off this strike and give in to the bullies that are our government, we still would: have huge class sizes... pissed off teachers and poor morale... barely minimal amount of special needs aids... high numbers of special needs and ESL students per class... and still be paid as if we were nothing more than glorified babysitters. yeah. keep up what you've been doing for the past 4 years, boss.

Dan Brown and hiw book The Da Vinci Code.

Hot damn. I couldn't put it down.

And now... so far anyway, Angels and Demons is equally as good....

...oh the joys of reading for enjoyment... it's been years, my friends. (Although I was interested in the topic of what I had to read for my degrees, it's not the same as buying a book a reading it because you want to, not because a prof told you it would be on the exam...)

From my friend jeff aka The Stray:

* my fave is number 4.

12 reasons why gay people should not be allowed to get married.

1. Homosexuality is not natural, much like eyeglasses, polyester, and birth control.

2. Heterosexual marriages are valid because they produce children. Infertile couples and old people can't legally get married because the world needs more children.

3. Obviously, gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

4. Straight marriage will be less meaningful if Gay marriage is allowed, since Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage was meaningful.

5. Heterosexual marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are property, blacks can't marry whites, and divorce is illegal.

6. Gay marriage should be decided by people, not the courts, because the majority-elected legislatures, not courts, have historically protected the rights of the minorities.

7. Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

8. Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

9. Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

10. Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why single parents are forbidden to raise children.

11. Gay marriage will change the foundation of society. Heterosexual marriage has been around for a long time, and we could never adapt to new social norms because we haven't adapted to things like cars or a longer lifespan.

12. Civil unions, providing most of the same benefits as marriage with a different name are better, because a "separate but equal" institution is always constitutional. Separate schools for African-Americans worked just as well as separate marriages for gays and lesbians will.

the sad thing is... is that the Londoners who were against the war in iraq are now even more so because of the attacks... and those who were for the war in Iraq, will now use the attacks to strengthen their resolve for the invasion....as will bush and blair. come on people, live your own lives... let everyone else live theirs.

this whole 'war' thing has been such a sham.

EVERYONE WATCH THE MOVIE '911: In Plane Site'.... i have it on DVD if you want to borrow it. so good.

For all of you who oppose our government's democratic decision to legalize marriage for those darn gays...

When did marriage become about sex, and not love? Get over it already. If you don't believe in gay marriage, then don't marry a gay.

  Nothing beats...

getting up and walking to the coffee shop

puchasing a fresh bag of expressso (which smells oh-so-orgasmic, might i add)

brewing some... making a yummmmmy americano

putting in some of my new hazelnut coffee stuff (thanks to shelley for getting me addicted after so many mornings of coffee on the patio)

and sitting here contemplating what i'll do for the day before my ultimate practice this evening.

excellent. bloody excellent.

ps- erin... are you going to london again? where in london have you gone so far??? have you gone to that club that paul mccartney owns/runs in Liverpool?? have you ever driven past Anfield (Where LFC plays??)... can you take a picture of Anfield if you go by it again?!? or maybe just not sleep?

fack i want to go again.

ERIN. LIVERPOOL WON THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. YOU ARE ENTERING MY CITY/COUNTRY ON A DAY OF EXTREME PARTYING AND HAPPINESS. oh how the jealousy is just... unexplainable. do me a favour if you go to a game/see lots of LIVERPOOL F.C. stuff.... i would sure fancy a pin ;) (and be your best friend forever).

on a different note... it's just beautiful out. hot damn i lurve it.

on an even different note... what's up with people? what's up with these facades? what's up with saying one thing and doing the opposite? what's up with your supposed 'values'? what's up with what you said you believe in? what's up with your 'priorities'...?

sometimes i think id be doing the world a favour if i started handing out dictionaries to these people and educated them about the meaning of certain words. it's pretty sad when you get to the point of indifference when it comes to a person's heart-felt promises. when these promises becomes meaningless. when i dont even give a shit to listen or give the time of day....
what's it all for anyways? what's the point?
i know that im not perfect. but i'd like to think that i came to a point years and years ago where i realized that trying to convince myself that something i did that was very obviously wrong, could somehow be right and okay... is a pile of shit.

what ever happened to taking ownership for our own actions?

maybe it's our entire societal system of punishment that is to blame. i mean.... never does the punishment ever align with the crime anymore. hell, if i was homeless and hungry, youd better believe that id like to rob a store and get caught on purpose just so that i could spend a few days being well fed and warm in a prison. (trust me- my brother works at a maximum security federal prison, and it isn't so bad... this isn't compton, afterall).

who knows though. now im at the point of rambling on and on and on...

do the world a favour: cut the bullshit. enough with EXCUSES. no one wants to hear why you fucked up. no one wants to hear why knowingly did something wrong or made a very very conscious mistake.

how about we think before we act... just this one time?

on another note... work is good, love is good, most of you are good... oh and ultimate kicks ass.

so i just went to vote while i was biking. oh how i love doing so.

the man in front of me had a son, maybe about 4 years old? after he got his ballots, instead of going to the booth to vote... he takes his son and goes to a side table to show his son what the ballot looks like... and reads out each section to him to show him how voting works. it was so cute.

i want to be like that when im older... with my kids.

anyways. go vote. take 20 minutes out of your precious little day and read up on the candidates. it's worth it. and if nothing else... do it in the name of the millions of people who live in dictatorship countries where they are denied such a priviledge. where people die just for the chance to vote. it's important.
